John Leahy is an Australian barrister and solicitor. With some 40 years varied legislative drafting experience, he has a particular interest in improving access to the law (including through clear language drafting), the development of legislative systems and frameworks, and legislative drafting capacity building. John was Principal Legislative Counsel at the Office of Parliamentary Counsel (Canberra, Australia), Legislative Counsel and Director at Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority, and held various senior positions in Australian Parliamentary Counsel Offices (including as Queensland Parliamentary Counsel and Australian Capital Territory Parliamentary Counsel).
